were also found in the cleric’s residence. He was apprehended in Laduba, Ogidi area of Ilorin West Local Government Area. It was gathered that the Muslim cleric was nabbed when the community leaders in Laduba decided to raise some volunteers to go round the houses in the area, to raise money as a means of contribution to the repair of their faulty transformer. On getting to the suspect's resident, the volunteers were welcomed with an offensive odour emanating from the cleric's house. Suspicious about this, they quickly informed other members of the community who later mobilized themselves to the house of the islamic cleric, mandating him to explain the cause of the odour. Instead of a proper explanation, Alfa Gani was said to have accused the community members of trying to intrude on his privacy.

The boy later confessed that the cleric asked him to exhume the baby’s placenta to prepare the charms, and the mother of the baby who was informed rushed to the place where the baby’s placenta was buried only to discover that it was no longer there. The matter has since been reported at the nearby Oloje police station.
