TV3 Launches Ghana’s Most Beautiful


   TV3 has held a colourful durbar of chiefs, queen mothers and people in the Ogua Traditional Area at the Victoria Park, Cape Coast, to launch its Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) season VIII beauty pageant.

   Ten contestants within the age bracket of 20-27 years, who went through intensive screening by the TV3 auditioning team, would over the next 13 weeks showcase performances that would engage viewers on the cultural values and perspectives from their respective regions.The 10 contestants for season VIII, mainly products from the country’s tertiary institutions, would embark on projects like girl-child education, poverty eradication and promotion of the Ghanaian identity.The Omanhene of Ogua Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, described Cape Coast as the tourism hub of Ghana, and commended TV3 for holding the durbar in the metropolis.

   The Omanhene also congratulated the 10 contestants and reminded them of the need to exhibit their best as they represent their respective regions.The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TV3, Augustus Dickson, said the pageant is one of the network’s many interventions to renew commitment for viewer satisfaction.He explained that the choice of the Central Region for the launch of the pageant was to truly project the region as the heart beat of Ghana’s tourism.

The CEO also paid glowing tribute to the traditional authorities for making the launch very historic.The Ghana’s Most Beautiful reigning champion, Poka, who represented the Upper East Region, described the journey through her reign as inspiring, transforming and educative.She urged the new contestants to be resilient and work hard at the various projects and performances in order to emerge winners at the end.
