Simply charge your phone by SHOUTING at it. Queen Mary University of London and Nokia, create a Gadget that converts sound waves from
speech into five volts of energy that can charge a mobile phone. The device, whose Prototype is about the size of a mobile phone, uses zinc oxide to produces electricity when subjected to mechanical stress, like shouting at it.
The invention was inspired by a previous
research which found out that playing pop and rock music improves the
performance of solar cells. The gadget can convert sounds from chants at a
football ground or chatter in a coffee shop, to energy that can charge up
mobile phones. This could be very useful if added to our mobile phone, since
phone batteries always die at the same moment you need to make important calls.
Seems there is a good reason to shout, as it won’t be in vain.
